ralo 2020 "Harvest Fresh" Pre-Orders - now Online - ENDING JUNE 15, 2020

Dear Friends,

In a year like no other, we send our best wishes for health to you and yours and indeed to all those who are not us or ours...

YOU CAN NOW PLACE PRE-ORDERS

This will be a short note to let you know we are now taking pre-orders on our website for 5 Litre Tins of olive oil (no bottles), as well as for olives and white soap.

It will not be possible to order bottles of any kind at this time.

We have not yet set an end date for the pre-order period but will send an email newsletter or post an announcement giving you a couple of weeks advance notice.

We have no idea if or when the Farmers Market will operate this year so we are proceeding on the basis of current conditions.

2 OPTIONS: PICKUP OR SHIPPED TO YOU

Since we don't know what the future will bring, you can choose to pickup your order (by appointment) or to have it shipped to you.

Pickup appointments can be scheduled via email at anytime after placement of your order.  (It will be a "no contact" pickup process with your prepaid order placed on a table just outside the door for you to pick up and be on your merry way.)

If you select "Pickup" for your order, AFTER placing your order on our online store you must send us a SEPARATE EMAIL to info@ralooliveoil.com to schedule an appointment to pick up your order.

Please note that due to City road construction set to begin on April 13th, the most direct route to 356 Cambria Place may involve delays or detours.  So, if you can schedule a pickup date before April 13th you can avoid that inconvenience.  If after April 13th, we will advise you accordingly.

Please note that orders to be shipped will not start going out for a couple of weeks or so as we wish to arrange only one mass delivery or pickup to courier/shipping services.

6 DIFFERENT OLIVE OILS TO CHOOSE FROM

There are a total of 6 oils available to choose from: 4 fresh organic extra virgin oils (three of which are from our IONIAN grower, and the fourth from our returning KALAMATA grower), our fresh 42 Trees conventional extra virgin oil, and last year's organic virgin olive oil.

ARGOLID and KORONI growers' oils will not be available this year.

ORDERING "1-3 TINS" or "4+ TINS"

We are pleased to advise that our pre-order prices are the same as last year.

You will see the same oil listed twice, once under the "1-3 Tins" and once under the 4+ Tins" category.   If ordering a total of 1-3 tins, click on the "1-3 Tins" listing.

Please note that the "4+ Tins" lowest price is available only if you order a total of 4 or more tins.

PHENOMENAL QUALITY

The November/December 2019 harvest was phenomenal in terms of quality and above average in quantity.  It is clearly the best "vintage" of the past 20 years.

All of the fresh oils are noticeably stronger in flavour than last year's olive oils. Over time they will soften but be ready for lots of flavour.

IF YOU LOVE MILD OILS

If you love mild oils and are averse to any degree of fruitiness, bitterness or pepperiness in the flavour, then we strongly suggest you consider either buying Last Year's Virgin Organic oil alone or together with fresh IONIAN 1 or 42Trees with which you can blend to soften the flavours of the fresh oils.

(The price for last year's oil is lower than we have ever offered for a 5 Litre tin.  It's an incredible deal for those you love to use olive oil for all of your cooking needs.)

OUR FLAVOUR GUIDE

Here is our 2020 Flavour Guide to aid your selections:

3 TYPES OF OLIVES

In addition to the familiar gigantic olives we have two new types of olives from the same suppliers, small green Manaki variety olives and medium-sized Kalamata olives, each in extra virgin olive oil.

  • Gigantic Olives: Sea salt, natural wine vinegar, Florina red peppers, cumin, oregano, orange zest, celery and extra virgin olive oil.
  • Manaki Olives: Just the small, green Manaki olives packed in fresh extra-virgin olive oil.  Mild in flavour, subtle sea salt, medium crispness, with fresh green olive fruit taste.
  • Kalamata Olives: Familiar taste of Kalamata olives, sea salt, and mild fruit bitterness. Not too hard, not too soft in texture.

ORGANIC OLIVE OIL SOAP

We are pleased to again offer the traditional, handmade olive oil soap made by our IONIAN grower with their family's certified organic olive oil, rainwater steeped in wild chamomile and soapmaker's soda (the "White" soap).

It is a mild, all-natural soap that moisturizes the skin and supplies needed nutrients without any harmful chemicals.
